A note about spelling;

FYI I am the best speller in my house. And the fact that that statement is true is an inconceivably huge joke. I would be hard pressed to find a report card of mine that did not include the two phrases "poor penmanship" and "spelling needs improvement".
There are, however, a few words that I spell the way I spell them because I have declared them so spelled! Does that make any sense?
I have declared the words 'alot' and 'atleast' to each be one word, not two words each, a lot & at least, as recommended by every spellchecker I have encountered. I believe there are other words that I have declared the spelling of, but I can't remember them right now. I'll let you know when they come up.
I just didn't want you to think I was making thoughtless mistakes - I am, infact, making informed decisions and they are spelled that way because I have decided it so.
Too bad I can't seem to take charge of the rest of my life as that way - just decide that it is so...
PS - I know, I know, this was not a "real post". I have not forgotten my promise to post soon. I guess "soon" is such a relative term...
PSS You can add the word 'infact' to "my declared so spelled" list too!

rara avis and My Blog Basics

"rara avis" - a friend of mine used it to describe me once. At first I didn't know what to think of it. But turns out I like it.

My Blog Basics

1)I am not an overtly paranoid person (my husband might disagree) but I'd like to make a few requests; If you know me, if we are important to you, then you already know all the names and locations you need to know. I will, therefore, be using initials, just 1st names, or even 'code names' for people I discuss. If you do happen to know the real names or places, I request that you refrain from using them in your comments. Should my friends or family decide to 'out themselves' (by comment or link), then that is their responsibility and BTW they should know what info NOT to put on the internet! **
(T,M& B: add stern look and waiving finger)
2)
I promise, I WILL have uncountable grammatical errors. Please ignore them.
3)You are NOT obligated to view, read or ponder my blog. I therefore feel no need to refrain from including things that I would normally never inflict upon you in a normal conversation, like giving boring details of my life, bragging about my children, regularly complaining about 'New Yorkers' and the like.
So, if you are still interested, welcome. -Christine

**you should consider EVERYTHING you put on the internet to be available to EVERYONE and accessible to them FOREVER.

Okay, I'm here. A blog.

I've been pondering starting a blog for over a year now.
What to name it? Should it have my name, not have my name. Real Name, fake name? By invitation only, open to public? Do I even have the time for a blog?.............
Oh well.
"Worry does not empty tomorrow of its troubles.
It empties today of its strength."
(I don't know who said it first but it is from one of my favorite Mary Engelbreit prints)
** I found an image of the poster. -Love this one!!**

So I decided to just get it going. So here I am!
No promises. I can't guarantee frequency, consistency or quality! So view at your own risk.
My very next post (probably even today) will tackle a few of my previous quandaries.

Welcome and enjoy!! If you find you don't enjoy or aren't enriched by your time here, PLEASE use your time elsewhere! Life is too short and time is too fast! (takes the pressure off me too.)
